42.9" / 109 cm Wooden Altar Crucifix | 1700s Memento Mori
This is a RARE, very large French antique wooden church altar crucifix (reliquary cross) dating back to the 1700s. It features a beautiful Calvary / Golgotha base with Memento Mori and a stunning Corpus Christi (body of Christ) statue. The base contains traces of the seals from the relic - see the enclosed images.
General: The cross's overall dimensions are 42.9 inches (109 cm) high and 18.5 inches (47 cm) wide. The overall dimensions of the Corpus Christi are 22.8 inches (58 cm) high, 17.7 inches (45 cm) high from the head to the toes and 12.2 inches (31 cm) wide. It weights 4.7 kg / 10.4 pounds.
