A very large and outstanding French Church antique 18th / 19th century Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) wooden statue. Stunning wood carving and polychromy artistry. This Corpus Christi comes with a bespoke metal display stand from which it can be easily removed and used for a cross, wall or other display. The sculpture dates back to the 1700s / 1800s.
General: The overall height with the stand is 37 inches (94 cm). The overall dimensions of the Corpus Christi statue are a height of 32.5 inches (82.5 cm), a height from the toes to the head of 27.2 inches (69cm), a width of 23.6 inches (60 cm) and the metal base is 7.9 inches (20 cm) wide.
Condition: This Corpus Christi is in good condition with no damage besides age-related wear - some loss of polychromy. Please see the enclosed images.
