St Joan of Arc Bronze Statue | 1800s Antique | 14" / 35.5 cm
This is a RARE and beautiful bronze sculpture after marble by Princess Marie Christine d'Orleans (French, 1813-1839), daughter of the French king Louis-Philippe and a student of Ary Scheffer and David d'Angers, depicting Joan of Arc - Jeanne d'Arc praying. Signed on base top right: Marie d'Orleans. Foundry mark on rear base right: SUSSE FRES. This Sculpture was cast after 1843. It dates to the mid to late 1800s.
