A RARE, large and beautiful baroque - 18th century Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) polychromed and gilded wooden sculpture. Great antique woodwork artistry, with exceptional detailing to the face and body. The Corpus Christi is currently mounted on a bespoke metal display stand from which itcan be easily removed and used for a cross or wall display. Comes from a monastery in France and dates back to the early 1700s.
General: The overall height with the stand is 25.4 inches (64.5 cm). Dimensions of the Christ sculpture are a height of 21.3 inches (54 cm), a height from the head to the toes of 18.5 inches (47 cm), a width of 11.8 inches (30 cm) and the metal base is 3.9 x 3.9 inches (10 cm x 10 cm) wide.
