A RARE beautiful plaster statue depicting Pieta - the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Jesus accompanied by Mary Magdalene. Wonderful statue portraying a famous work of art depicting the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion Titled in French: "N. D. de 7 Douleurs" Our Lady of 7 Sorrows. This is The Sixth of Our Lady´s Seven Sorrows - Mary Receives the Dead Body of Jesus in Her Arms(Mark 15: 43- 46). This statue is coming from Convent in Northern France. Dating to the period of early to mid 1900´s.
