A RARE and beautiful 1700s antique wooden sculpture depicting Saint Michael The Archangel, chief of the angels and archangels portrayed in the battle with Satan, holding the sword in one hand scales in the other. Extraordinary woodworks artistry and polychromy together with gilding and silver plating. It comes from a French monastery and dates back to the 1700s.
General: The sculpture dimensions are a height of 30.3 inches (77 cm), a height without a sword of 24 inches (61 cm), a width of 15 inches (38 cm) and a depth of 14.6 inches (37 cm). The base is 7.5 x 6.5 inches (19 cm x 16.5 cm) wide and the weight is 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg).
