An elegant and expressive solid-bronze sculpture depicting the crucified Christ, distinguished by its dramatically elevated arms, elongated anatomical proportions and finely detailed modelling. Christ is represented with his arms extended upwards in a striking V-shaped composition, his head inclined to one side in an expression of suffering and spiritual resignation. His delicately modelled face is framed by flowing, shoulder-length hair and a carefully articulated beard. The slender, elongated body reveals pronounced ribs, subtly defined musculature and an expressive treatment of the abdomen, reflecting the dramatic anatomical language associated with European Baroque religious sculpture. A finely modelled perizonium (loincloth), secured around the hips by a twisted cord, falls in elegant, deeply sculpted folds. Its animated drapery contrasts with the restrained modelling of the torso and legs. The sculpture is displayed independently on a modern metal stand. An evocative example of European devotional sculpture in the Baroque tradition, distinguished by its dramatic composition, expressive spirituality and refined bronze modelling.
