Christ is depicted with both arms dramatically extended, his head inclined in suffering beneath a deeply modelled crown of thorns. His elongated figure displays restrained anatomical modelling, while the overlapping feet retain evidence of their original attachment to a crucifix. The finely observed facial expression, with lowered eyes, a pronounced nose, and a dark beard, conveys a powerful sense of resignation and spiritual contemplation. Traces of red pigment emphasise the wounds of the Passion, contrasting with the softly weathered flesh tones. This distinctive characteristic, together with the sculpture's direct, expressive modelling, gives the work a compelling, individual character. The corpus is displayed independently on a contemporary metal stand, allowing its sculptural qualities to be appreciated.

General: The overall height with the stand is 24.2 inches (61.5 cm). The overall dimensions of the Corpus Christi statue are a height of 20.1 inches (52.5 cm) and a width of 15.9 inches (40.5 cm.

Condition: This Corpus Christi is in good condition with age related wear - aged painted surface, with its visible losses, abrasions and natural cracking, contributes to the sculpture's historic appearance.
