RARE 1500s Wooden Crucifix w Bronze Corpus Christi | 29.5"
A VERY RARE - museum piece, 16th Century Renaissance altar crucifix featuring outstanding - after Giambologna - gilded bronze Corpus Christi and wonderful wooden Golgotha base with 5 images of Saints, probably three Marys (Mary the Mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and Mary of Cieophas) and St John. The cross dates back to the Renaissance period of the 1500s.
General: The overall dimensions of the crucifix are a height of 28.5 inches (75 cm), a width of 11.8 inches (30 cm) and depth of 7.1 inches (18 cm). The overall dimensions of Corpus Christi sculpture are a height of 9.5 inches (24 cm), a height from the toes to the head of 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) and a width of 8.1 inches (20.5 cm). The weight is 7.5 pounds (3.4 kg).
