A RARE and beautiful French antique gilded brass icon featuring a porcelain painting of Ecce Homo ''behold the man'', Latin words used by Pontius Pilat when he presented a scourged Jesus Christ, bound and crowned with thorns to a hostile crowd shortly before his Crucifixion. Exceptional painting artistly with incredible amount of detail. Dates back to the mid to late 1800s.
