Angel Statues Pair | 1700s Cherubs Wood 9.5"
An elegant and expressive pair of carved wooden cherubs, conceived in animated flying poses and retaining delicate polychromy and traces of gilding. The figures were originally incorporated into a church altar, altarpiece or other architectural devotional setting, where their floating poses would have complemented a larger sacred composition. Now presented on discreet modern black metal stands, the cherubs form a harmonious and visually engaging pair, suitable for a collection of European religious sculpture or Baroque decorative art.
General: The overall height with the display stand is 12.8 inches (32.5 cm). The overall dimensions of each Cherub are 9.5 inches (24 cm) high and 6.1 inches (15.5 cm) wide.
Condition: These angels are in good condition no damage besides age- related wear. Please see the enclosed images for the condition description.
