A RARE, large and beautiful 1700s Baroque wooden sculpture depicting the Flaming Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ with Crown of Thorns and gilded Sunburst / Aureola (from a later period of the 1800s / 1900s.. Stunning wood carving artistry with incredible amounts of detail. It comes from a convent in France and dates back to the baroque period of the early 1700s.
General: The overall dimensions of the Sacred Heart carving are a height of 16.5 inches (42 cm), 14.8 inches (37.5 cm) wide and 3.5 inches (9 cm) deep.
Condition: The Sacred Heart is in good condition with age related wear - gilding and polychromy loss and old treated woodworm holes. Please see the enclosed images.
