Virgin Mary Child Christ Saint John 1800s Antiques | 15.4"
An exquisite and monumental 19th-century French pipeclay and composition sculptural group. The finely modeled composition portrays the Madonna seated in tender repose, cradling the Christ child while the young Saint John the Baptist stands beside them holding a rustic cross. Executed in tactile matte white pipeclay that captures soft facial expressions and flowing drapery folds. Bearing the original manufacturer's metal plaque of the prominent Parisian éditeur Salvator Marchi on the base, this 35 cm high and 39 cm wide masterwork represents the height of 19th-century Parisian decorative ecclesiastical sculpture
General: The statue’s overall dimensions are 15.4 inches (39 cm) wide and 13.8 inches (35 cm) high.
Condition: The statue is in good condition with no damage besides age-related wear. Please see the enclosed images.
